CD Projekt Red Puts Out Warning Against Cyberpunk 2077 Beta Scam

A number of people have reported receiving emails about a beta invite for CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077. It turns out that these emails are part of an online scam.

The developer took to Twitter to clarify that the mails are not from them and that it’s probably a scam. “If you recently received an email claiming to be granting you beta access to Cyberpunk 2077, it’s not from us. Unfortunately, there have been more of these being sent out over the past few weeks. When we contact you via email, it’ll always come from @ cdprojektred com address,” said the tweet.

CD Projekt Red further added, “Same goes for content creators. We always reach out directly from @ cdprojektred com domain. If you are being contacted by a third party claiming to be working with us (an ad agency for example), you can assume it’s not genuine.”

CD Projekt Red has revealed that Cyberpunk 2077 will be getting a more robust next-gen upgrade for the PS5 and Series X. The upgrade will be free to those who own the game on PS4 and Xbox One.
